A recent article Becker's Hospital Review says that providers will need to find ways to reduce costs - particularly in Medicare and Medicaid - while maintaining or improving quality.

Mohlenbrock, MD, FACS, discusses "three specific initiatives to improve quality and control costs [in the healthcare reform law]: the Medicare Shared Savings Program, which establishes Medicare accountable care organizations; the Bundled Payments for Care Initiative, which expands CMS' Acute Care Episodes; and Consumer Operated and Oriented Plans."
